It was founded in 1978 by Arturo Masoero, a chef with a draughtsman's diploma and an obsession for the mechanical production of a finished product with the quality and taste of handmade pasta.
His restaurant in Monferrato was famous for local dishes, such as rabbit and braised meat, and, above all, for agnolotti and tajarin, typical pasta shapes. But he had to rely on Mrs. Marina, the sfoglina of the restaurant, for the preparation of hand-made pasta. The sfoglina's were the ladies who could prepare the dough and the different shapes of pasta following the traditional recipe. Arturo Masoero wanted to produce the same kind of pasta with the help of a fresh pasta machine and devoted all his free time to this project.
